What these tools can and cannot tell you, in plain language.

No interview, no job, and no specific ATS outcome is guaranteed

The tools identify mechanical reasons a resume may be filtered out by applicant tracking software, and suggest specific fixes. That is different from a promise that fixing them gets you an interview, a job, or a passing result from any particular employer’s system. Nobody outside that employer can guarantee that, including us.

ATS behavior genuinely varies

“The ATS” is not one piece of software. Different vendors, different configurations, and different recruiter settings parse a resume differently — a heading format that one system reads perfectly can trip up another. The checks here encode widely-documented parsing risks (tables, headers, unusual fonts, missing text alternatives, and similar patterns), not the behavior of one specific vendor’s current release. A score of 100 removes the mechanical risks we know how to detect; it is not a certificate that every ATS in existence will parse the document identically.

The advice is general guidance, not a review of your situation

Every rule applies the same way to every resume. Nothing here reads your specific career history, weighs your industry’s norms, or knows what a specific hiring manager wants. Treat the output as a checklist of removable mechanical risks and a set of general writing patterns that tend to help — not as personalized career advice.

Do not fabricate anything to satisfy a check

The Achievement Quantifier and the Bullet Point Improver deliberately hand you a template with a blank in it rather than a number, and the AI prompts tab in the builder is built around the same rule. Passing a mechanical check with a metric, a title, or an experience you cannot defend in an interview costs you more than an unquantified bullet does. If a suggestion asks for a number you do not have, leave it blank rather than invent one.

ATSResumeKit is not affiliated with any ATS vendor or employer

This project has no partnership, data-sharing agreement, or other relationship with Workday, Greenhouse, Taleo, iCIMS, LinkedIn, or any other applicant tracking system or employer. The parsing rules are built from publicly documented formatting risks and our own testing of how common document structures extract as plain text, not from access to any vendor’s actual system. If that ever changes for a specific integration, this page will say so by name — nothing here is affiliated unless stated here explicitly. Who does run the site is on the about page.

Where this overlaps with the terms

This page is a plain-language summary. The binding version, including liability and acceptable use, is the terms and conditions. Neither is legal advice, and neither has been reviewed by a lawyer.
