Terms and conditions

Last updated October 21, 2026

These terms cover your use of ATSResumeKit (“the service”), provided by ATSResumeKit. They are written in plain English because terms nobody reads protect nobody. Using the service means you accept them.

1. What the service is

A free set of tools that check and build a resume. Everything runs inside your own web browser. There is no account, no subscription, no payment, and no paid tier — every feature is available to everyone at no cost.

2. Your content stays yours

You keep every right in the resume you write. We claim no licence over it, and we do not receive it. A resume you write in the builder is stored in your browser’s local storage. A resume you paste or upload on a tool page is kept in that tab’s memory and is gone when you close or reload the tab. Neither is sent to us. See the privacy page, which explains how to verify that yourself. The only thing you can send us is a message through the contact form (section 5).

Because we never receive your resume, we cannot recover it. If you clear your browser data, switch device, or use private browsing, the document is gone and no copy exists anywhere. Keeping a backup is your responsibility — the builder exports a JSON file in one click for exactly this reason.

3. What the service does not promise

The tools identify mechanical reasons a resume may be filtered out by applicant tracking software. They do not promise you an interview, a job, or that any particular system will parse your resume correctly. Every employer configures their software differently, and no third-party tool can replicate a specific configuration. See the disclaimer for the plain-language version of this section.

Scores are a checklist of removable risks, not a prediction. A high score means you have eliminated common mechanical failures; it is not a statement about your suitability for any role.

The service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, ATSResumeKit is not liable for any loss arising from your use of it — including lost data, a missed application, or an unsuccessful job search.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the service to create a resume containing claims you know to be false;
  • attempt to disrupt the service or the people using it;
  • resell access to this service as though it were your own paid product.

On the first point: the tools deliberately refuse to invent achievements or metrics for you. Passing an automated filter with a claim you cannot defend in an interview wastes your time and damages your standing with an employer you may want to approach again.

5. Third-party services

The tools themselves — the checker, the matcher, the builder — make no request that carries your resume. The site does use these outside services, each described in full on the privacy page:

  • Google Analytics loads on every page, including the builder, as soon as the page opens. It receives the page address and title, the names of a few events (such as that a score was shown or a resume was exported, never what the resume says), and the browser and device details any website visit carries. Until you press Allow on the consent banner it sets no cookie and sends only cookieless measurements.
  • Ahrefs Web Analytics loads only after you press Allow, and counts visits.
  • Google AdSense loads its advertising script as soon as the page opens, on every page except the builder and a few utility pages (the error, maintenance, announcements and offline pages). The ad spaces this site places ask for ads only after you press Allow. Google’s Auto ads, a setting in the site’s AdSense account, can place and request ads by itself, including before you answer the banner.
  • The contact form sends the name, email address and message you type to its form provider, Web3Forms, only when you press Send.

None of these services has access to your resume. You can change your answer to the consent banner at any time with Cookie choices at the bottom of every page.

6. Availability and changes

The service is offered without any uptime guarantee, and features may change or be removed. Your saved work lives in your browser, so a change to the site is not meant to affect it, but an exported backup protects you against anything unexpected.

We may update these terms. The date at the top reflects the last substantive change, and continuing to use the service after a change means accepting it.

7. If you are under 16

The service is intended for people old enough to be seeking work. It does not ask your age, and it never collects your resume. The measurement described on the privacy page works the same way for every visitor, whatever their age: Google Analytics sends cookieless measurements before any answer, and its cookies are set only after someone presses Allow. The privacy page also lists the one short-lived test cookie a Google ad domain sets whatever the answer. If you are under 16, read these terms and the privacy page with a parent or guardian, and decide together how to answer the consent banner.

8. Contact

Questions about these terms go through the contact page.

These terms are written in plain English rather than legal boilerplate, and describe what the service genuinely does. They are not a substitute for legal advice, and have not been reviewed by a lawyer.
