Free Resume Tools
10 tools, all free, all running in your browser. No account, no upload, no premium tier.
Which tool do you need?
Most people arrive with one of four problems. Start where your problem is described. The checker and the matcher share the resume you add, so you do not have to paste it twice if you move from one to the other.
- "I applied to thirty jobs and heard nothing back."
- Start with the ATS Health Checker. Nobody can tell you from outside why a particular employer did not reply, but you can rule out the mechanical problems first — an unparseable heading, a date format the system could not read, or contact details trapped in a page header. Those take minutes to fix.
- Run the health check
- "I match this job, but I am not getting called."
- Use the Job Description Matcher. Applicant tracking systems are searched, not browsed — a recruiter runs a query and reviews what comes back. A term you did not write is a query you cannot appear in, even when you have the experience.
- Match against a posting
- "My resume reads like a job description."
- Use the Bullet Point Improver. The most common weakness is describing duties rather than outcomes — what you were responsible for, instead of what changed because you did it. The tool finds those lines and offers the rewrite where the fix is mechanical.
- Improve your bullets
- "I am starting from nothing."
- Open the builder and load the sample. It ships deliberately imperfect, so you can watch the analysis find real problems before you put your own work in — which is a faster way to learn what the rules mean than reading them.

What these tools deliberately do not do
They do not write your resume for you. Every suggestion comes from a rule somebody wrote and anybody can read, so the same resume always produces the same score and every finding cites a reason. An AI that generates bullets invents employers, dates and metrics — and you are the one who has to defend them in the interview those bullets won.
They do not invent your numbers. The Achievement Quantifier tells you which kind of metric fits a bullet and where you would realistically find it. It hands you a template with a blank in it, never a figure.
They do not send your resume anywhere. There is no server to send it to. Open your browser’s developer tools, select the Network tab, and use every tool on this page — besides this site’s own files, the only requests you will see are for the analytics and advertising services listed on the privacy page (Google Analytics, Google AdSense and, if you allow it, Ahrefs Web Analytics). None of them receives anything you typed.
Frequently asked questions
- Which resume tool should I use first?
- The ATS Health Checker. It scores the mechanical things that decide whether your resume is readable at all — headings, dates, contact details, formatting — and those are problems you can find and fix yourself. Fix those first, then move to the Job Description Matcher for a specific role.
- Are all 10 tools really free?
- Yes, and there is no paid tier to upgrade to. Every tool, including PDF export, is free and unwatermarked. There is no account, no trial and no payment screen at any point.
- Do I need to re-enter my resume for each tool?
- No. A resume you build in the builder is stored in your browser, and every tool reads it automatically. A resume you paste or upload on a tool page stays in that tab’s memory, so it carries across the tool pages until you close or reload the tab.
- Do these tools use AI?
- No. Every suggestion comes from a rule that is written down and readable in the source, which is why the same resume always produces the same score and every finding cites a reason. The trade is real: rules miss nuance an AI would catch. In exchange nothing is invented, nothing is uploaded, and it runs offline.
- Is my resume sent anywhere when I use these tools?
- No. There is no server to send it to. Every tool is JavaScript running on your device and your resume is stored only in your own browser. Open DevTools, select the Network tab, and use every tool on the page — besides this site’s own files, the only requests are for the analytics and advertising services listed on the privacy page. None of them receives a word of your resume.
