Prepare your resume for the companies you’re targeting
Whichever employer you apply to, a recruiter needs to see your skills and experience quickly. The free tools and guides here help you present them clearly.
Product and technology companies
IT services and consulting companies
Company names are examples of employers job seekers often apply to. ATSResumeKit is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them, and no tool can promise how a particular employer’s hiring system will handle your resume.
How to check and improve your resume
Three steps. No account, and your resume is never sent to a server.

See how a weak resume bullet gets fixed
Most rejected resumes are not written by unqualified people. They are written by qualified people who described their work in a way that carries no signal. This is what the Bullet Improver says about one line from the built-in sample resume.
It names the problem, explains it and proposes a stronger verb. The result and the number have to come from you, because only you know them.
Bullet Point Improver
SampleYour bullet
54/100 · Needs work
Worked on the design system used by four product teams.
- "worked on" weakens this bullet
- No number anywhere in this bullet
- States an activity but not an outcome
Why it matters to a reader: The single most common weak opener. Says nothing about your contribution.
Suggested rewrite
Developed the design system used by four product teams.
Add a result (the numbers come from you)
Developed the design system used by four product teams, improving task completion rate from blank for your number% to blank for your number%.
Two more before-and-after examples
Before
Worked on React Project
After
Rebuilt the patient booking flow in React and TypeScript, increasing completed bookings by 23% in one quarter
Weak verb, no ownership, no outcome, no number: four separate problems in four words.
Before
Responsible for managing the reporting process
After
Automated the weekly reporting workflow in Python, saving the team 15 hours per week
A duty becomes an achievement. The tool flags the duty phrasing and the missing outcome. The outcome and the number have to come from you.
Illustrative examples written for this page. The figures in the “after” versions are made up to show the shape of a strong bullet. The tools never add numbers for you.
What happens to your resume
There is no server that receives your resume. Here is exactly where it goes.
Analyzed in your browser
Every tool is JavaScript running on your device. Reading an uploaded PDF or DOCX happens there too.
Saved only in this browser
A resume in the builder is kept in local storage. Text pasted on a tool page stays in that tab until you reload or close it.
Exported on your device
The PDF is generated in the browser. Clearing site data deletes your resume, so keep a JSON backup from the builder.
Analytics and ads never see it
This site uses analytics and advertising services. None of them receives anything you type into a resume.
What you get for free
Every tool and every export is free. Nothing on this site asks you to pay.
| Price | $0. There is no paid tier, trial or subscription. |
|---|---|
| Download a formatted PDF | Free and unlimited, with no watermark. |
| Account | Not needed. There is no sign-up and no email capture. |
| Where your resume is stored | In your own browser. There is no server copy. |
| Text in the exported PDF | Real, selectable text, checked by the project’s automated tests. |
| Working offline | The builder keeps working without a connection after your first visit. |
| How findings are scored | Fixed rules: the same resume gets the same score, and every finding names its rule. |
Many resume builders let you write for free and charge when you download, often through a short, low-cost trial that renews automatically. Prices and billing periods change and differ by country, so check the renewal terms before you pay for any resume tool.
How the ATS score works
The ATS Resume Checker runs 56 fixed rules, grouped into six weighted categories that add up to 100 points. There is no AI model and no unexplained number.
Contact & Identity15 points
Your name, email, phone, location and LinkedIn profile.
Sections & Structure20 points
A summary, experience or projects, skills, education, and no empty headings.
ATS-Safe Formatting20 points
One date format, standard fonts and sizes, no emoji, icons, tabs or decorative symbols.
Content Quality25 points
Opening verbs, measurable results, first-person pronouns, and bullet and summary length.
Keywords & Skills10 points
Enough named skills, grouped by category, and your target job title.
Length & Density10 points
Page count for your experience level, and how many bullets each role carries.
Deterministic rules, not a model
Every finding comes from a rule someone wrote and someone else can review. The same resume always produces the same score, and every suggestion has a stated reason.
How job matching works
The Job Description Matcher uses a hand-built skills list with alternate spellings, so "K8s" matches "Kubernetes". Skills in a posting’s requirements count 1.5 times as much, and repeating a keyword has a capped effect.
It never invents your numbers
The achievement engine classifies what a bullet describes and offers metric shapes with blanks for you to fill. A made-up figure is one you could not defend in an interview.
Real text in the PDF
The export draws actual text rather than a picture of it. Open the PDF and you can select, search and copy every line, which is what a parser does.
Methodology
The six scoring categories and their weights, the PDF parsing thresholds, and the checks the tool does not attempt.
Parsing experiments
Controlled comparisons against this site's own parser: one column against two, contact icons on and off, standard against unusual headings.

What this cannot promise you
No tool, this one included, can guarantee an interview or replicate a specific employer's hiring system. Every deployment is configured differently, and none of them publish their ranking logic. What these tools can do is remove the mechanical reasons a resume gets missed: unparseable formatting, missing keywords, unquantified bullets. That is a real, controllable part of the outcome. It is not the whole of it.
Frequently asked questions
- Is ATSResumeKit really free?
- Yes. Every tool and the PDF export are free, with no watermark, and there is no paid tier to upgrade to. Many resume builders let you write for free and charge when you download. This one has no payment screen at any point.
- Is my resume uploaded anywhere?
- No. There is no server to upload it to. Every tool runs as JavaScript in your browser, and your resume is stored only in your own browser’s local storage. You can verify this yourself: open DevTools, go to the Network tab, and use every feature — besides this site’s own files, the only requests are for Google Analytics (no cookie until you accept the consent banner), Ahrefs Web Analytics (only if you accept), and Google’s advertising script on every page except the builder. None of them receives anything you typed.
- Do I need to create an account?
- No. There is no account system, no email capture and no login. Nothing is remembered about you between visits except the resume saved in your own browser, which you can delete by clearing site data.
- Will my resume pass an applicant tracking system?
- No tool can promise that, because every employer configures their system differently. What this does is remove the mechanical reasons for failure: single-column templates built to avoid common parsing problems, real selectable text in the exported PDF rather than an image, headings a parser recognises, and consistent date formats. The score is a checklist of removable risks, not a prediction.
- Does this use AI to write my resume?
- No, deliberately. Every suggestion comes from a rule somebody wrote and anybody can read, so the same resume always produces the same score and every finding cites a reason. AI writing tools invent employers, dates and metrics that you then have to defend in an interview. If you do want to use an assistant, the AI prompts tab in the builder gives it your real facts rather than letting it generate from nothing.
- Can I use this for more than one job application?
- Yes. You can keep multiple resumes, mark one as your master copy, and tailor a copy for a specific posting without touching the original. All of it stays in your browser.
- What happens to my resume if I clear my browser data?
- It is deleted, and there is no copy anywhere to restore it from — that is the trade-off of having no server. Export a JSON backup from the builder and keep it somewhere safe; you can re-import it in seconds, and it is the complete document in an open format.
